My only question now is how much weight should I lose before I take focus off of burning fat and instead to building muscle?

Building muscle will help you burn fat and calories. Do both.

The excercising will help you end up with better body as you end up your body as you lose the weight and calories you lose the best thing to do is attached to scale.
