I’ve been reading about this a lot cuz I’m trying to bulk up too, and to bulk up u need to eat….500 extra calories per day to gain 1 lb per week. I eat 40% of calories from low glycemic carbs like whole grains, brown rice, yams, etc., 40% protein from whey, chicken, pork, fish, etc, and 20% from healthy fats like olive oil, avocado, etc. This is what I do w/ protein: 1 scoop whey with some blueberries immediately upon waking in morning, 1 scoop whey w/ apple sauce (natural, not sugary kind) 30 min before I lift. After lifting, 1 scoop whey plus 1 scoop casein w/ a fast digesting carb (I put cereal in blender) - must be w/in 45 min after lifting. Before bed I have 1 scoop casein with some good fats like almonds or walnuts. I’m including some good links for you.
